Week 26 Anxiety Anticipating and avoiding danger is a natural instinct, so it is normal to be on edge going into a new situation. Anxiety is caused by situations that are both unpredictable and uncontrollable. Things can be uncontrollable but predictable, like a rollercoaster ride. Or they can be unpredictable but controllable, like going to a dinner party.

Sometimes it is extremely painful to have to admit to some shortcoming, poor choice, or mistaken belief that we have based our lives upon. We can feel extremely embarrassed, regretful or foolish when we face these things. We can also feel lost and anxious about the future. However, if you try to gloss over certain realities, and proceed on a lie or a half-truth you are going to fail. This is because you are attempting to build your life and relationships on something that is not solid because it is not real.

When you take your happiness seriously, you begin to take the necessary steps to accomplish your goals. Week 16 Happiness There are three kinds of happiness. One is the moment-to-moment pleasure that comes from lovely experiences. Some of these come through planning, and some through luck. However, they are transitory by nature, and part of the reason they are so enjoyable is that they are fleeting. The second kind comes with being totally absorbed by intense concentration on a task. This is what is sometimes referred to as “flow” and is characterised by blocks of time seemingly passing in an instant.
